Going back home to India is a special event in CEO Nikesh Patel’s year, having half of his family living in India gives him the opportunity to spend some well earned free time to reconnect with loved ones in their homeland.
For CEO of HRS Invictus, travel is a huge goal of his and part of his company’s culture, Nikesh would like to continue inspiring everybody in his firm to sew some oats and never become a stranger to travel. In his office you will find a full-size map of the world on his far wall, he keeps this as a constant reminder that he wants his firm and himself to spread their wings far and wide beyond Leeds. “I absolutely love Leeds, it’s my home, I don’t intend to leave forever, but I don’t want to restrict my goals or those of the firms. It’s rare that companies want to encourage their representatives to travel, they usually prefer to keep them in one place to give themselves reassurance that they cannot lose their employees. But here at HRS Invictus, our clients offer products and services worldwide and so this gives us the flexibility to work with them in different locations. I am so proud to offer these travel opportunities to those in my firm, the sky is literally their limit” explains Nikesh Patel of HRS Invictus.
“Most of the time my travelling is work related, which is still exciting tho, I had no idea I would one day be able to have business lunches or conferences in capital cities which I can spend time exploring once the work has been done, but my recent trip to India was a personal one” Says Nikesh. “It is important to slow down at times, unwind from work and change the pace a little. While I was in India, like the majority of business owners (the successful ones anyway) I still had my phone on ready to receive work calls, and to make calls to touch base with my assistant managers, as well as keep an eye on urgent emails, but that’s what drives me, I don’t see working from vacation as a burden, it’s one hundred percent a blessing. So many people struggle to find or keep consistent work, and I have the power to do it while on vacation. I should not take that for granted. After all, it’s my hard work that allows me to be able to take a vacation in the first place, so I know working hard is what I have to do.”
Being able to refresh myself with some travelling, family time and new surroundings give me the excitement to get back in the office with a fresh perspective and attitude, travel has so many benefits, and this is undoubtedly the best one of the bunch. Those who travel for pleasure or for business will have the same thing in common; they will feel inspired and excited to look for what else is out there.
